There ain't no rest for the wicked
Money don't grow on trees
I got bills to pay
I got mouths to feed
Ain't nothing in this world for free
No I can't slow down
I can't hold back
Though you know I wish I could
No there ain't no rest for the wicked

The Lord said to Jeremiah the Prophet, "Arise, and go down to the potter's house, and there I will cause thee to hear my words. Then I went down to the potter's house, and, behold, he wrought a work on the wheels. And the vessel that he made of clay was marred in the hands of the potter: so he made it again another vessel, as seemed good to the potter to make it." The clay that marred in the potter's hands was thrown back into the unprepared portion, to be prepared over again. So it will be with every wicked man and woman, and every wicked nation, kingdom, and government upon earth, sooner or later; they will be thrown back to the native element from which they originated, to be worked over again, and be prepared to enjoy some sort of a kingdom

From Suzanne:
Dear CAROLA and Doug,
Words will only express a very small part of how I truly feel about the
loss of Corbin. As you know, Corbin was very special to me. I felt a
kindred spirit towards him from the first time I met Corbin. When your
family first moved into our neighborhood, and our kids began to explore
friendships with each other and the neighborhood. Corbin brought
warmth and charm where ever he stopped. A natural gift of gab and
personality....he was the family spokesperson. Very quickly he climbed into my
heart as he would stop by and talk about life and his goals. He
expected a lot from himself and I knew he was destined for greatness. He
complimented me all the time about the roses, and how beautiful they were.
Such a darling boy! I always thought. I chucked when he turfted the
Brian's lawn. Wow, now that takes guts...Go Corbin! He was so amazing
because he was born to be great. He was a natural leader and people were
drawn to his sincerity and kindness. I was only one of many. His
curiosity for life and experiences may have opened that dark hole that
pulled him in tight. He had no fear, but those gifts were... I believe
spiritual gifts that he did share with us, and now has the opportunity to
share with millions of others without the bonds of flesh. You and
Carola are great great parents. I have always admired your support,
kindness and encouragement to your children even in the most challenging
times. Bless you and your family the rest of your lives and the lives of
all your children. Remember I love you and share your loss. I will
always be grateful to have known your beautiful son.... Corbin Morby.
Doug & Carola,
Hello! It's Tesha.
I just found the website you made for Corbin, it's really nice to see, I am glad you guys put it up. I read Ramsey's letter, I cried and cried. She is a wonderful girl! Everyday that passes by, I think we all think of Corbin. Then, now, and forever I know I will. I am blessed to have had him in my life, and I am proud to know you and your whole family! I got a few pictures from Carola the other night, and I brought them to my work to show them off, one of them is the family picture and someone asked if it was my family, I said I wish! It's awesome, everyone complimented on how cute of a family you all are, and how there are so many kids! I told them I love the fact you have so many in you family, you guys are the cutest and so much fun. I never had a close family, or a big one, and I admit, I was a little intimidated when Corb told me how many you had in your family. But I admire you. You have really showed me that families can be wonderful, that is so meaningful to me, you really opened my eyes. I remember working at Itec, it was fun and had a lot of interesting people there! But I had so much fun, I don't know if Doug remembers but Corbin said you could always hear me and my friend Casey coming because of our huge loud laughs. He said he loved to hear it, that it always brought a smile to his face. Corbin and Pace, were the cutest brother couple I have ever seen. I remember seeing them driving in Pace's old white dodge, with 2 lime green dirt bikes in it. I actually remember the day they got those, and brought them to work. Riding up and down the street, I don't think Doug was there! I remember driving from lunch one day, and I saw Corbin pulled over by a policeman on Forest Street right in front of Itec, I laughed so hard. Then he came back and said he is in so much trouble he broke all sorts of laws, and he was just coming back to grab some things and head off to jail, I started to flip out, CORBIN MORBY! But then he started laughing and said he was kidding. I love my memories with Corbin; I wished I could have more. He was the best friend I could ever have, and so much more. You both have brought in such a beautiful boy, beautiful in so many ways and in every way. I have never met anyone like him, he lit up my life, he showed me so much about life, every morning I loved to wake up in hopes of seeing him, it really was my inspiration a lot of the time. We all love Corbin so much. And I do still and always will love him. He is in my heart always. And you (Doug), Carola, Harmony, Chance, Pace & Jessica, Corbin, Marika, Madison, Mckenzie, Ramsey, Mclaren, Hudson, Landree and Anika will always have a place in my heart, thank you so much for allowing me to visit and talk with you, you really have helped me in a lot of ways, I love your whole family! I think Corbin would be very happy to know that we talk, I really do. Take care, me and Hula will see you soon.
Love always,
Tesha
Doug,
I don't know how to start this so I will just go for it. I just found out today about Corbin from my dad and it was one of the most shocking things that I have heard. I love him and love you and your whole family. I know that we all know the Plan of Salvation and have heard it time and time again that they go to a better place. Well know it is more real then it has ever been before well at lest it is for me! I know that this is one of those things that can ether make you stronger or not. I know that it will make you stronger and that you will help you family through this. I know that Corbin is with all the great Prophets and teachers and that are loving Savor Jesus Christ is there for us all Corbin to. He went throw everything that your going throw and everything that everyone else has gone throw and will go through. Doug I want you to know that I love you and Would do anything to help you and you family out.

I heard a story in church a few weeks ago told by a Mormon missionary from Kaysville, Utah. He did a nice job explaining forgiveness and he sited the following story:
The basis of the story suggests...in my mind...that we should all quit holding grudges and forgive all men.
Heber J. Grant Forgivesby Truman G. Madsen
President John Taylor sat in a meeting with the Twelve and asked his brethren for their vote to readmit into the Church a man who had disgraced the Church. What complicated the issue is that the man had committed a grievous sin while he had been a member of the Twelve. This is a former generation, lest you begin guessing.
He not only had committed the sin, but when confronted with it, in the presence of his brethren of the Twelve, had vehemently denied it. The sin he committed had been notorious. When finally he buckled and acknowledged it, he had been excommunicated.
Years had passed, I do not know the length of time. All I know is the time came when President Taylor felt this man should have the privilege of beginning over. He asked his brethren. At first there was some sense of: "Oh no, is he really ready?"
But eventually, all except Heber J. Grant, a man I love and honor, said yes. He alone said no. Later President Taylor said, "Why, Heber, why?" He replied, in effect, "Because he lied."
Then President Taylor said: "But Heber, how will you feel when you confront the Lord Jesus Christ hereafter, and it is clear that you were responsible for holding this man outside the Church?
That didn't slow President Grant down at all. He said, "Why, I will look him in the eye and say, I AM responsible for keeping that snake out of the Church!"
President Taylor smiled and said, "Well, Heber, stick to your convictions. Stick to them!"
President Grant went home that day and was waiting for lunch and opened the Doctrine and Covenants. "I, the Lord, will forgive whom I will forgive, but of you it is required to forgive all men" (D&C 64:10) That's tough enough. All is an inclusive word, isn't it. There is no exception, but it also says: "...he that forgiveth not his brother...standeth condemned before the Lord; for there remaineth in him the greater sin (D&C 64:9). Greater than what? Are we to say, for example, that a woman who refuses to forgive her husband of adultery has committed a more serious sin than adultery? The sin of this man, who lied about it, was a moral sin; and yet taken at its face value, that verse seems to say: it's worse not to forgive.
One of the great things about President Grant is that when he knew he was wrong, he was wrong, and he was a practitioner of what Brigham Young called: instant repentance. He shut the book and knew what he needed to do.
He went right back down to the Church Office Building to see President Taylor. He explained to him that he had changed his mind and wanted this man baptized into the Church. President Taylor was pleased. He laughed his Lancashire British Santa Claus laugh and then said, "Heber, what happened?" and Heber explained.
"Heber, how did you feel this morning when you left me at the meeting? How did you feel about this brother?"
President Grant said, "I felt like I wanted to go out and knock him down."
"That's right. Now Heber, how do you feel now?"
He started to weep and said, "To tell the truth President Taylor, I hope the Lord will forgive the man."
And President Taylor said, "Heber, I didn't have to ask the Twelve whether Brother so-and-so can come back into the Church, but I put it to the vote so that you" - and I think he mentioned one or two others - "might learn what you have learned here today. This morning you did not have the Spirit of the Lord Jesus Christ. This afternoon you do. Never forget that, Heber."
Now, two sequels that are not public knowledge. He learned to forgive essentially because it was a commandment. It is in the scriptures. He had always sustained the scriptures. They said forgive everyone. He did it.
But that's not quite the same as learning to forgive because you profoundly need it yourself. The problem with being as good and righteous a man as Heber J. Grant is that you may lack compassion for those who have all kinds of problems not doing what for you is easy. But he later learned that. He came to a time when he condemned one of his own brethren, accused him and in effect said-you are not doing what you ought to do in this realm. Then later he came to realize that it was he not the other man who wasn't doing what he should do. When he realized that, he went in abject humility, threw his arms around the man and pled that he would forgive him and asked for his encouragement and strength to repent himself. Heber J. Grant was a more compassionate man after that than he was before.

We went to Payson Yesterday
went to the park - there was a lake and ducks - beautiful day - we went to a couple of shops - went to an old cafe/coffee shop for lunch with the locals - we went to our swimming hole where we have been going for 25 years. The girls were trying to catch crawdads.
rapped On Ben Lomond
In the town where I was born, there is very large and beautiful mountain called Ben Lomond - The name Ben Lomond comes from early Scottish settlers. Someone said it resembled the mountain of the same name in their country of Scotland. The Ben Lomond in Scotland is located east of Loch Lomond. Its name translates into “Beacon Peak”. Me and my brothers spent much of our younger years hiking this ten thousand foot landmark.
One afternoon my Brother Dave, who today is still an avid explorer and outdoorsman, began hiking the shear cliffs of Ben Lomond. This is something he had done many times, however this time…something went wrong…whether he lost concentration, or took a wrong turn, or just lost his way…he found himself trapped on a ledge with a drop of over 500 feet. To have fallen would have meant certain death. He did not know what to do – he could not go higher – things seemed impossible to the left and unreachable to the right. The ledge itself was only a few inches to cling onto…things looked bleak and he began to tremble. – he was losing strength as the sun began to fade over the horizon of the great salt lake. He knew he had made a tremendous mistake and knew of no way out.
Have you ever felt like this before? I think in life we all make mistakes from time to time. We sometimes make a wrong turn – or even lose our way. Sometimes we feel that we are trapped with nowhere to turn.
Dave began to pray – things were bleak – yet he trusted Heavenly Father…after a few minutes, he began to think very clearly and without hesitation, he was able to compose himself and work his way to safer ground. The Lord had helped him through this dangerous situation.
I hope when we reach difficulties in life through sin or tragedy or when we feel trapped, burdened or with nowhere to turn - we will turn to the Savior – he will help us though – He is the Master.

Powered byThe other night I went to a daddy daughter date with my lovely 13 year old. Our local religious group sponsored the night. We decided to pick an isolated table so we could talk. The person in charge said: Hey, you guys need to move to a table so you can mingle”. I didn’t want to mingle, but we moved any way. Since this was a function involving men, straight away someone started asking the famous question that most men can’t help but asking: “Hey, what are you doing now for a living?” Its not that I am anti-social or anything, its just that the reason I wanted to sit alone was to avoid the male dominated conversation about business. The girls at the table looked at each other like “here we go, dad’s going to do it again…completely ignore me and talk about work.” Instead of having an evening with our daughters the men resorted to “business talk”. I have often felt a little weird about the kind of thing that goes on between men. When we are children we are “Age Graded”. Meaning that as soon as you meet someone new or when ever you see someone that you haven’t been around for a while, the other person asks the question, “What GRADE are you in?” It’s the person’s way of sizing you up and judging you based on your age. When we grow up, this exercise is shifted away from being AGE Graded to “Status Graded” and it can be ridiculous. When there are no wives around…the BS begins to fly…men tend to paint a picture about what they do for a living to cover up the fact they are not really where they would like to be…Yet. I usually try to avoid these types of conversations because it reminds me of two dogs meeting for the first time…you know… sniffing each other’s tail and putting their nose where it doesn’t belong. Whether we like it or not, we tend to judge each other primarily based on our achievements financially. The night turned out as you would expect…the girls were bored and the men were into it deep. To my left was an executive at a large airbag company, to my right was a lawyer for a large trucking firm, and straight ahead of me on the other side of the round table was a local insurance and financial advisor. When we sat down the question arose…”Doug, what are you doing for a living?” I said “just more of the same - building widgets.” The insurance professional said “ come on Doug, I know you have something cooking- you always do”. After I briefly explained what they wanted to know, an interesting comment was made and the other men all agreed:I WISH I HAD THE GUTS AND THE CREATIVITY TO GO OUT ON MY OWN AND START MY OWN BUSINESS. Wow… a profound and honest statement was made. Most men want to improve their financial position but find it impossible to do while working for someone else. They also realize that there is a ceiling placed upon them by their employer – But what is to be done? More thoughts to come...
